DMP Physiotherapist Esther Cummings, when not working in our Asquith clinic, can often be found out near an ice rink!

In addition to her work with DMP, Esther is also the Physiotherapist for both the Sydney Bears (Australian Ice Hockey League) and the Sydney Sirens (Australian Womens Ice Hockey League), working at home games, training and away games.

Both teams have had 2 very successful seasons on the ice, last year both finishing in 2nd place, and this year both teams hoisting their championship cups!

Esther is privileged to work with the Bears and Sirens athletes who have worked tirelessly to achieve the success over the 2019/2020 season, and has shared some of her photos from the big wins!

Along with her work at DMP, Bears, and Sirens, Esther is also expecting her 2nd child! Team DMP are thrilled for Esther and her family. Esther will be taking bookings up until 8th April before commencing her maternity leave.

Physiotherapist
Esther has a keen focus on active recovery, having worked as a mobile physiotherapist with retirement villages prior to taking her position with us at DMP.  During this time she completed balance training “Stepping On”, ran exercises classes, hydrotherapy, Tai chi, and at home rehabilitation.
Within her field of work, Esther takes particular interest in chronic pain, back pain, knees, womens health and sports physiotherapy, and enjoys working with patients to aid their recovery.
Outside her clinic hours at DMP you’ll find her with the Australian Ice Hockey League as the physio for the Sydney Bears and Australian Women’s Ice Hockey team the Sydney Sirens.
When she finds free time, Esther loves escaping to the coast surfing, snorkelling, doing anything at the beach with her young family.  She also enjoys hiking and camping, and during winter you’ll need to watch carefully as she’ll fly past you on the slopes!
